Our Story

Compass Wellness was founded by clinical psychologist Clint Maggott with a vision of creating a practice where compassion, inclusivity, and professionalism guide every interaction. Having begun in Cape Town, the practice grew from Clint’s early work in both public mental health and private practice into a collaborative space where diverse practitioners bring together a wide range of skills and perspectives.

From the start, Compass Wellness has been shaped by the belief that mental health is not only about the individual, but also the relationships, communities, and contexts in which people live. Today, the practice continues to honour this foundation—offering therapy that is both deeply human and grounded in evidence-based care, while providing a safe, supportive space for healing and growth.

Our values

At Compass Wellness, our values are rooted in compassion, inclusivity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. We believe therapy should be a safe, collaborative space where clients are met with kindness and empathy. Our work honours the interconnection of mind, body, spirit, and social context, recognising that healing does not happen in isolation but within the realities of people’s lives and communities.

We are guided by a commitment to social justice and accessibility, welcoming individuals from all walks of life and affirming the richness of diverse identities across gender, sexuality, culture, and ability. Above all, we value care, consent, and connection, seeing the therapeutic relationship as both a refuge and a powerful site of growth and transformation.
