Our Team
Meet the Compass Wellness team behind your care. We are a close-knit group of passionate clinicians, each bringing unique expertise and a shared dedication to compassion, inclusivity, and empowerment. Together, we create a supportive space where your journey toward growth and wellbeing is our priority.
Clint Maggott: Founder & Clinical Psychologist
Clint is a clinical psychologist and business leader with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and adolescents. He trained at Stellenbosch University (MA Clinical Psychology) and later completed an MBA at UCT’s Graduate School of Business, giving him unique insight into both human behaviour and the demands of the corporate world.
His early career included clinical work in the public sector with the South African Military Health Services and Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital, before moving into private practice where he has worked for the past nine years.
Grounded in Psychodynamic Therapy, Clint also integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), offering clients both depth and practical strategies. His work is guided by a belief in compassion, empathy, and understanding people within the broader social contexts they live in.
Sorrel Pitcher: Clinical Psychologist
Sorrel is a clinical psychologist who offers a warm and compassionate space grounded in respect for each person’s lived experience. With dual Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Psychological Research from UCT, she combines academic rigour with a deeply human approach to care.
Her work is holistic and integrative, rooted in psychoanalytic self psychology, a depth-oriented approach that explores how early relationships shape identity, self-esteem, and emotional life. She also draws on creative modalities such as art, writing, music, and games for clients who find traditional talk therapy challenging.
A strong commitment to inclusivity, social justice, and collaborative care underpins her practice. Sorrel works from a queer, intersectional feminist, and neurodiversity-affirming stance, welcoming people from all walks of life and honouring the ways identity—across race, gender, sexuality, class, and ability—intersects with psychological experience.
She supports both adolescents and adults—individually, in couples, or in families—across short- and long-term psychotherapy. Her focus includes sexual and gender identity, relationship dynamics (including non-monogamous partnerships), autism and ADHD in adulthood, adolescent identity and self-esteem, as well as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and bereavement.
Above all, Sorrel’s therapeutic work centres on care, consent, and connection, making the therapeutic relationship itself a powerful space for insight and change.
Nasera Mokoa (née Cader): Clinical Psychologist
Nasera is a clinical psychologist with over 18 years of experience working in the public sector, particularly in the field of adult mental health. Her path to psychology was deeply shaped by her early career in social work and community-based NGOs on the Cape Flats, where she developed a strong commitment to accessible mental health care.
After completing her BA Honours in Psychology in 1995, she went on to earn a degree in Social Work while serving communities in Cape Town, before completing her Master’s in Clinical and Community Psychology at Stellenbosch University in 2007.
Now in part-time private practice, Nasera offers therapy to individuals and couples in the Southern Suburbs, the community where she herself grew up. Her areas of focus include individual therapy for adults, couples therapy, trauma counselling, and anxiety and stress management.
Guided by her name, which in Arabic means “to help,” Nasera sees her role as an honour and privilege: to walk alongside clients on their journey of healing and growth.
Nailah Solomon: Practice Administrator
The heart of the practice and the first friendly voice you’ll hear, Nailah has been with us since day one — and it shows. With a knack for keeping things running smoothly, she handles everything from scheduling and coordinating appointments to managing the day-to-day operations that keep our psychologists focused on what they do best.
More than just the logistical glue of the team, Nailah genuinely enjoys connecting with clients and making sure their journey with us starts off feeling calm, clear, and supported. Whether you’re booking your first session or following up after a consultation, she’s often your first point of contact — and always ready with a smile (even over email!).
Driven by a passion for people and an eye for detail, Nailah finds real meaning in creating a welcoming environment where clients feel seen and cared for, even before they walk through the door.
